Learning...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things i can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Time Out

Nathan is two. A sweet, wonderful, fun loving, adventurous two year old little boy.

Don't get me wrong we have our battles, like all parents of two year olds. Right?
All small typical boy things I'm sure. But sometimes ah it's just too much and all I can do to keep from a flood of emotions is just laugh. One day I'll look back and think "I miss thoses days, they were so great" and remember all the funny things he did.
Today however was a slightly difficult day, one where he wanted to do his own thing and not bother with right and wrong. A day that involved time outs.

Yup time outs on that darn "time out" chair, he hates that chair! But he knows to sit and stay until he is told go get up. Usually after being released from his time out he knocks the chair over. And ever time he is told to pick it up or it's back to time out.

Today however he showed momma how smart he is. He sat in time out and got up without knocking the chair over. He grabbed his tool box full of plastic tools and one mini (real) screw drive daddy bought him. He took his tools over and proceded to say "momma I fix it I fix it" nothing unusual he always "fixes" things for momma.

But then a few minutes lagers as i went to check on him....

Yup! He had actually taken the chair apart! He showed me how he felt about that pesky time out chair!

Do they look alike?

Cha Cha Changes!

My new sewing station is nearly completle! Yay yay yay! Just need to create a few finishing touchs and move into it! Then I'll post pictures I'm so excited to show it off! I'll do a whole post on it, cuz I'm that in love! It's going to make my HUGE list of projects easier to accomplish!

Speaking of that.... my project list is HUGE! But I'm so excited about them all! I'm having trouble deciding where to start with! I recently picked up fabric to cover Sydneys rocker, have the red wing chair (that is so out or place color wise) recovered with beautiful fabric, make Nathan an upholstered bed board for his new full sized big boy bed, and curtains to cover his closest opening, since doors were out of the budget during the remodel. So I'm looking forward to getting those things done soon. Sydney's rocker is almost finished. I'll show your her beautiful room soon also!

I also plan to tackle the playroom. I'm going to bring in new furniture pieces, hopefully get Nathan starting to organize toys with color bins and baskets, and make it less boyish more gender neutral! But I'll admit I love that room just close the door and most of his toys and mess is hidden! Most!

I really want to do the living room and the master bedroom also. I feel like those are the two eye sores of our house. But I don't really know how I to plan to fix them just yet. Each are presented with lay out challenges. So once most of the smaller projects around the house are complete I'll tackle those two rooms! Hopefully in that time ill come across some fun solutions and decorating ideas.

This is going to become a creative outlet for me! I'm excited to post pictures of my projects as I finished them! Stay tuned its going to be fun!

it's been so long

Yeah to say it's been awhile is an understatement. But better now then never right? Exactly...so now it is!

As I sit here writing the Sydneys sleeps in one arm, Alex an arms reach away and Nathan in his room just a crossed the hall. Yup Sydney is here now, not only is she HERE but she is a months & a half old! Where is the time going?

Let me be the first to say it's been a roller coaster of emotions, these past few months! So wonderfully prefect, hard, exashasting, beautiful, fulfilling, confusing and worth it all at once! I must say we have been so blessed with such wonderful babies! Both nursed well and rarely cried. So so lucky! Nathan is two oh my sweet little man! He is such a hand full! Gosh I just love him! Always into something that's for sure! I wonder if Sydney is going to be as outdoors- ie as Nathan. Guess only time will tell...

One thing is for sure reguardless of how the day unfolds I could not be happier. This life Alex and I have created is so much more then I could have ever asked for. We have two unbelievable wonderful kids, we own our home, have a pretty great dog and family to lean on.

I get to be a stay at home mommy yay what a gift. Things just could not be going better.

And now spring is approaching which means spruce up time! Yay yay yay! I love little projects that make things pretty around here! I have big plans of turning this place into what I've always pictured! It's gonna be great! A thirty adventure of garage sale finds mixed with a creative me plus a handy hubby!

Just plain old happy!
